Kodak Alaris, a global leader in intelligent document processing with an award-winning portfolio of document scanners, has appointed Kolok as a distributor for its hardware portfolio in South Africa. The appointment strengthens Kodak Alaris’ route to market, expands access to its scanner range and supports the development of sustainable run-rate business through a broader reseller network.
Kolok will take responsibility for distributing Kodak Alaris’ full range of document scanner hardware in South Africa. By combining Kodak Alaris’ capture technology and product innovation with Kolok’s national distribution capabilities, established reseller relationships and deep market knowledge, the two companies aim to improve product availability, extend reseller coverage and make the portfolio more accessible to customers across the country.
The partnership is designed to accelerate growth across established and emerging customer segments, including financial services, healthcare, education, business process outsourcing and other document-intensive industries. It will give resellers a stronger route to market, closer commercial support and greater access to the scanner portfolio needed to address recurring customer demand.
Kolok is one of South Africa’s established distributors of IT, printing and office technology products, with a nationwide footprint and a broad partner ecosystem. Its distribution infrastructure and experience representing global technology brands will help Kodak Alaris extend its reseller reach, strengthen market coverage and develop consistent business across the scanner portfolio.
“South Africa is a strategically important market for Kodak Alaris, and appointing Kolok as our distributor is an important step in our next phase of development,” said Elias Mouchantaf, Regional Business Director, MEA, Southern & Eastern Europe, APAC at Kodak Alaris. “Kolok brings the scale, market knowledge and reseller relationships we need to widen our coverage, improve availability and build consistent business across our scanner portfolio. The focus is on creating a stronger commercial foundation for our partners and customers.”
Kodak Alaris’ scanner portfolio supports organisations ranging from small and medium-sized businesses to large enterprises and specialist service providers. The range is designed to help customers digitise information accurately and efficiently, improve productivity at the point of capture and create high-quality data for downstream business processes, automation platforms and AI-enabled workflows.
As organisations continue to modernise operations and reduce reliance on manual, paper-based processes, fast and accurate information capture remains essential. The expanded distribution model will make it easier for South African resellers to match customers with the right scanning technology, while creating a stronger foundation for recurring hardware demand across a broad range of use cases.
“We are pleased to welcome Kodak Alaris to the Kolok portfolio and see significant potential in bringing its proven document capture technology to a wider reseller and customer base in South Africa,” said Warren Strauss, Chief Executive at Kolok. “Our business is built around trusted vendor relationships, reliable distribution and helping resellers respond to changing customer needs. Kodak Alaris fits that approach very well. Together, we intend to broaden market access, create new revenue opportunities for our partners and ensure customers can source the technology and support they need locally.”
The partnership will include coordinated sales and marketing activity, reseller enablement and customer engagement initiatives aimed at expanding channel coverage and generating demand across the Kodak Alaris scanner portfolio. The teams will work together to identify priority verticals, support partners with relevant applications and grow both production and distributed scanning business.
The agreement further strengthens Kodak Alaris’ go-to-market model in South Africa by combining its technology portfolio with Kolok’s established reseller base, distribution infrastructure and logistics capabilities. This provides a platform to reach more partners, improve product access and build sustainable run-rate business across the market.
“The value of this partnership comes from combining global technology with strong local execution,” Mouchantaf added. “We have a competitive portfolio and clear ambitions for South Africa. With Kolok’s reach and market understanding, we can engage more resellers, create healthier run-rate demand and develop the business in a disciplined, sustainable way.”
The appointment is effective immediately, with joint reseller engagement, enablement and demand-generation activities planned as part of the rollout.
